Welcome to the 2020-2021 Gardena Community of Schools Website
Greetings!
My name is Rosie Martinez and I am the Gardena Community of Schools Administrator. It is my pleasure to support the fifteen (15) LA Unified schools is the city of Gardena – 1 Early Education Center, 10 Elementary Schools, 1 Middle School, 1 High School, 1 Continuation High School and 1 Career Transition Center. As a Community of Schools we serve just under 9,000 students.
I am extremely proud of the accolades and programs within our schools. We have four California Distinguished Schools, two Gold Ribbon Schools, two Title 1 Academic Achievement Schools, a Blue Ribbon School and a Golden Bell winner. In addition, all three of our secondary schools are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Our goal is to build cohesion among our schools by offering rigorous programs across grade levels such as Dual Language Programs, AVID, Schools for Advanced Studies and Career Technical Education Pathways. We are fifteen schools working together to serve our community.
